Lithuanian firm Colibri Aero and J&C Aero have developed a cargo seat-bag configuration intended for commercial supply transport.
The kit is designed for a triple-seat block to store up to 75kg of cargo per seat as well as an additional 9kg underneath – therefore a total of 250kg per block. The development team commented that the kit can be easily installed within minutes and it capable of carrying mail, electronics and medical equipment.
J&C Aero began work on the modification in 2019 but the team has put “additional resources” into the programme in February to speed up the process of certification. It has already been certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency.
“Being able to promptly apply temporary modifications for passenger cabins for cargo purposes may allow aircraft operators to increase cargo capacities,” stated Colibri Aero Chief, Andrius Norkevicius.
