Aeroflot has selected Panasonic Avionics to provide upgraded in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) solutions for its entire fleet of Boeing 777 aircraft.

Russia’s flagship carrier Aeroflot is introducing a new in-flight entertainment (IFE) programme concept to its customers this month.

According to Aeroflot, almost all of its Western-built aircraft are equipped with an IFE system and the IFE programme is available in all classes of service on its Airbus A350, Airbus A330, Boeing 777, Boeing 737, Airbus A320/A321NEO and most of Airbus A320/A321 aircraft.

The new IFE concept provides more choice and more frequent content catalogue updates, with the carrier saying at least 60 Russian and international film premieres and 40 new movie releases with an IMDb rating of six and up will be added monthly.

Around 50% of the most recent film releases will be supplied by Hollywood studios and the biggest rights holders, and the IFE system will be featuring new trending genres such as short educational animated videos, podcasts and video interviews with celebrities.

The IFE’s selection of Russian and Soviet films will also be enhanced and Aeroflot’s passengers with disabilities will have a wider choice of content with captions and audio descriptions.
