Air France has unveiled its latest long-haul cabins on board the carrier’s Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft.

The Business Class cabin features redesigned iconic seats with more enveloping curves and extra comfort. According to Air France, the seat’s design is based on the 3 “F”s: ‘Full Flat’, meaning that the seat transforms into a real bed that is almost two metres long; ‘Full Access’, providing all passengers direct access to the aisle; and ‘Full Privacy’, ensuring optimal privacy.

The first Boeing 777-300 ER with the new cabin is taking off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle to New York-JFK on 20 January. Air France says all of its long-haul Business cabins will be equipped with seats that transform into full-flat beds by the end of 2023. The carrier’s entire fleet will also be equipped with in-flight Wi-Fi.

According to Safran Cabin, the Business Class seats are the result of close collaboration between the Air France and Safran Seats teams. The seats have new sliding doors that allow passengers to create a private space and in addition, seats located in the centre of the cabin are equipped with a central panel that can be lowered by pressing it down. The seats feature a wide 17.3-inch 4K High-Definition anti-glare screen with a noise-reducing headset, a new Bluetooth connection and several electric sockets. The carrier chose wool, brushed aluminium and full-grain French leather as materials for the seats.

Comfort in all cabins

On board the Boeing 777-300 ER Premium Economy cabins, which have 48 seats, Air France is introducing its latest recliner-type seats that are already available on its Airbus A350 aircraft. The seats offer 96 cm legroom and the seat cushions have been redesigned. The seat back reclines to 124 degrees and noise-reducing audio headsets are integrated into the seats, which also feature USB A and C ports.

In the Economy cabin, the seats have a 43-cm seat pan, a 119-degree recline and 79 centimetres of legroom. The backrests offer reinforced lateral support and the seats are also equipped with a USB A port.

The seats in both Economy and Premium Economy are equipped with a wide 13.3-inch 4K High-Definition screen with Bluetooth connection and all cabins offer access to Air France Connect, the airline’s connectivity solution. The Air France Connect portal offers three passes, including a free pass that allows customers to send and receive messages and access information about flight connections.
