Singapore Airlines has chosen Recaro Aircraft Seating’s award-winning CL3710 aircraft seat to fill its new fleet, with the seat manufacturer also clinching two other deals with Chinese airlines.

The airline picked the long-haul seats by Recaro, meaning that with this order more than 20,000 design concise seats will fill the carrier’s aircraft. That includes 11 shipsets to linefit the operator’s Airbus A350 fleet. Delivery of the seats will take place in 2019, says Recaro.

The seat specialist also revealed at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg that Chinese airline Juneyao has ordered its first seats from Recaro. The order, also for the CL3710 economy class seat, includes five shipsets for the B787-9 widebody aircraft, and five more are planned. Delivery of the lightweight seats to the Shanghai-based carrier will take place in September this year.

Recaro’s other deal was with Kunming-based Chinese carrier Ruili, which is equipping the economy class cabin of its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The airline ordered 44 shipsets of the BL3530 SMART lightweight seat. Recaro will deliver more than 8,000 of the economy class seats beginning in April 2020.
