Alaska Airlines will begin rolling out additional First Class and Premium Class seating across more than 200 of its aircraft from September.
The aircraft in question include 900ERs, 800s and MAX9s. Annually, this will add 1.3 million premium seats to the carrier’s mainline fleet. Alaska Airlines has already successfully retrofitted its regional fleet, adding 400,000 Premium Class seats to its E175 aircraft.
In First Class, in partnership with RECARO, the carrier is providing passengers ultimate comfort, with the new First Class seats installed on the 737-800 fleet continuing to boast the most legroom and features including a calf rest, new seatback device holder, 6-way headrest with neck support and USB-C charging capabilities.
In the 737-800 fleet Main Cabin and Premium Class, the seats will have improved features, including new device holders with built in cup holders, USB-C charging and a 6-way headrest with dedicated neck support.
The 737-900ER fleet will receive an interior refresh, bringing modern touches such as device holders in the main cabin. All MAX9 aircraft will also get six additional seats converted to their Premium cabins.
Alaska’s Boeing fleet will maintain four lavatories to ensure there is have ample access to restroom facilities.
