All3Media announces in-flight deals for Studio Lambert’s Race Across the World

All3Media International, which distributes popular, award-winning TV programmes to over 1,000 broadcasters and media platforms around the world, has announced new in-flight deals for Race Across the World, produced for BBC One and iPlayer by Studio Lambert, an All3Media group company.

According to All3Media International, the ratings-winning fourth series is now set to entertain passengers on multiple airlines. The latest 9 x 60’ instalment has been acquired by Virgin Atlantic (UK), Cathay Pacific (Hong Kong), Hainan Airlines (China) and Korean Air (South Korea).

Emily Lawn, Global Inflight Executive at All3Media International commented: “As this hugely successful series continues to go from strength to strength, watched by viewers in living rooms around the world, it couldn’t be more fitting to see it also entertaining viewers as they embark on their own globetrotting adventures. Each race is packed with once-in-a-lifetime experiences, compelling characters and jaw-dropping scenery, making it perfect inspirational viewing for air and rail travellers.

“Race Across the World is one of the many premium titles we will be showcasing at the upcoming APEX Global EXPO in October, where I’m looking forward to introducing inflight buyers to a diverse line-up of shows ready to entertain their passengers.”

The fourth series features five intrepid duos as they battle it out in a breathtaking 15,000-kilometre race from northernmost Japan to the idyllic Indonesian paradise of Lombok.

All3Media International says that, with a series average of seven million viewers across BBC One and iPlayer, it was the biggest factual title and second biggest unscripted title across all platforms (after The Traitors, another Studio Lambert production), including terrestrials and streamers, so far this year.

Past series have seen contestants travel from London to Singapore, Mexico to Argentina and Canada Coast to Coast.

The second 6 x 60’ series of Celebrity Race Across the World launched in August and features four famous faces embarking on an epic 12,500-kilometre race across the length of South America, from Belém, Northern Brazil to the Andes in Frutillar, Southern Chile. The celebrities taking part are broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son, Freddy; actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin, Mary Ellen; broadcaster Kelly Brook and her husband, Jeremy; and Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé), Sam.

Without the use of air travel or any of the trappings of modern-day life, and with only the cash equivalent of the airfare to their final destination in their pockets, the teams in Race Across the World are tested like never before as the race pushes them to their physical and emotional limits. But with their feet on the ground and their eyes wide open, the rewards will be great, and the memories will be everlasting. Only one team can emerge victorious as they all vie to be first and (in the regular series) claim the cash prize.
