In celebration of its 100th anniversary, American Airlines is introducing the taste of Texas barbecue on flights from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to LaGuardia Airport and John F Kennedy International Airport in February.

The new menu items are offered by Pecan Lodge, a Texas-style barbecue restaurant, and include a barbecue platter with brisket, smoked sausage, mac and cheese, and coleslaw, while a chopped brisket sandwich with roasted green beans and potato salad will join the menu from March. The meals are only available via pre-order.

Rhonda Crawford, American’s SVP of Customer Experience Design and Strategy, said: “As we celebrate American’s centennial anniversary in 2026, we’re looking forward to delighting our customers in new ways that honour unique regional tastes, beginning right here in our home state through one of the most beloved barbecue restaurants in Texas. Our customers deserve nothing but the best, and Pecan Lodge is certainly that.”
