Elderberry Sparkler

American Airlines is offering an array of non-alcoholic drinks for the New Year, to help customers to stay on track with resolutions and to accommodate passengers with dietary requirements.

For the month of January, customers in the Admirals Club will have access to a range of mocktails in the spirit of Dry January, including: Winter Citrus Sparkler, a blend of orange, grapefruit and lime juice with rosemary; Ginger Peach Nojito, made with mint, lime juice, ginger syrup, peach puree and club soda; Turmeric Grapefruit Mule, made with ginger beer, turmeric syrup and grapefruit; Sparkling Blood Orange Mocktail with honey, vanilla, and club soda; and Elderberry Sparkler, a mix of elderberry juice, ginger, lemon, and sparkling water.

American has also served Athletic Brewing non-alcoholic beer in its lounges since 2022.

For those with dietary requirements, American has a well-instated array of alternative. In addition to serving oat milk creamer and La Croix Lime sparkling water, American’s menu options include vegetarian, vegan, kosher, lactose-free, Muslim, Hindu, diabetic and gluten-free meals, which are available to pre-order before a flight. According to the airline, 30 per cent of Americans avoid gluten and 15 per cent opt for dairy-free.

“Our health-forward dishes are made to taste great while also supporting fluid intake, aiding digestion, and being rich in nutrients,” said Kim Cisek, American’s Vice President of Customer Experience. “At American, we want our passengers to arrive at their final destinations feeling fulfilled and refreshed so they can enjoy whatever adventures lie ahead.”

In line with health and wellbeing, American has a partnership with FitOn, a fitness app, to provide free guided stretching videos and meditation practices on in-flight entertainment screens that can be done in-seat.

“Sitting for an extended period of time, especially on longer flights, can lend itself to muscle stiffness and poor circulation, all of which can be prevented with a few simple stretches done from the comfort of your seat,” added Cisek. “On your next flight with American, take a few moments to release the tightness and tension in your neck, low back and hips. Doing so will make your journey that much more enjoyable.”
