OneWeb has announced plans to provide the world’s first global LEO satellite broadband coverage for aircraft and passengers that will deliver high-speed, low latency service seamlessly over all air routes, including the Arctic region.
Working with carefully selected distribution partners, OneWeb says its communications network is designed to allow airlines to offer passengers and crew a significantly faster and more reliable experience in accessing data and internet services in-flight.
The service will be available over airline routes previously not possible to connect, such as Arctic routes.
OneWeb’s in-flight services will be available in a variety of packages to suit the needs of all types of airlines, with fit for purpose onboard equipment to match each airline’s requirements.
