EmPower® UltraLite G2 Power System by Astronics has won the Technology Award for Best In-Seat Power Solution at the 2025 PAX Readership Awards Ceremony, held in Hamburg.
The solution, which was unveiled at the 2022 Aircraft Interiors Expo, boasts a 30% to 40% reduction in weight compared with previous generation systems, supporting airlines’ efforts to reduce carbon emissions. It leverages 800W power supplies with greater than 93% efficiency and system intelligence at the seat and is as strong as traditional architectures, while offering advanced capabilities.
The system is available for both linefit and retrofit installations and can provide up to 60W of power at every seat, with a combination of USB
Type-A and the latest USB Type-C outlets.
