Moment, an in-flight digital solutions provider, has expanded its services by acquiring in-flight e-commerce company Airfree.

Airfree’s solution, currently in use with Singapore Airlines, allows Moment to offer onboard marketplace platforms, connected with over 350 duty-free shops worldwide, that passengers can access through either personal devices or seat-back screens to order items onboard, to the airport, or to their homes.

“In a rapidly transforming transport sector, marked by major decarbonisation challenges, we must constantly innovate to accelerate the digitalization of on-board services and operations, for the benefit of passengers and airlines alike,” says Tanguy Morel, CEO of Moment. “This initiative enables us to take a technological step forward in e-commerce and marketplace, while strengthening our range of innovative solutions, designed to meet our customers’ needs.”

Moment has other in-flight entertainment and digital services in its portfolio, including Flymingo onboard systems and Mood software platforms. By integrating Airfree, Moment can optimise its systems with Airfree’s patented in-flight bandwidth technology and other features.
