Netflix is apparently trialling human-curated ‘collections’ on iOS devices, bypassing its traditional AI crunched content suggestions.
In a statement to TechCrunch, a Netflix representative said: “We’re always looking for new ways to connect our fans with titles we think they’ll love, so we’re testing out a new way to curate Netflix titles into collections on the Netflix iOS app.”
As the way we consume media changes, in terms of devices and where we’re comfortable accessing multimedia content from, the issue of digital rights management (DRM) has become ever more important.

According to Brian Baker, head of Widevine Business at Google, the company sees an expanding marketplace in the IFE industry. Content owners, multiple service operators and digital media providers can utilise Widevine’s solutions to ensure revenue generating services keep flowing to whatever device consumer’s desire.
Airlines can continue to offer the latest must-see TV series or film, safe in the knowledge that their on-demand, live, and offline video is protected so they can focus on providing the best customer service they can.
