Italian-inspired dishes: Pan seared halibut and herbed short rib

American Airlines is launching a range of European destination-inspired dishes in celebration of its new summer routes to the continent from 11 June.

The meals will be available for passengers in Flagship Business, Flagship Suite Preferred seat or Flagship Suite seats on routes to Paris, Nice, Rome, Milan, Venice, Naples, Barcelona, Madrid, Frankfurt, Munich, London, and Dublin. Customers can order their preferred meal up to 20 hours in advance.

The meal options include: ratatouille or a porcini short rib with polenta, blue cheese, walnuts, roasted beets and zucchini, inspired by Provence, France; short rib with butternut squash and pea risotto or pam-seared halibut with potatoes and olive-caper relish, inspired by the Amalfi Coast in Italy; spaetzle with grilled courgetti, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes or crisp schnitzel  with potatoes and tomatoes, inspired by Germany; paella or seared paprika sea bass with squid ink rice and piquillo pepper sauce, inspired by Spain; and mustard-crusted lamb with turnips, peas, and baby carrots in a lamb reduction or peppercorn short rib with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, inspired by the UK.
