German business jet MRO provider FAI Technik has been appointed an authorised dealer and installer of SpaceX Starlink high-speed satellite internet solution for aviation, effective immediately.
FAI Technik says the SpaceX Starlink installations will be carried out at FAI Technik’s maintenance facility at Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg. FAI Technik is an experienced EASA Part-145 maintenance organisation and provides aircraft maintenance, modification and installation services and says Starlink complements the company’s established expertise in aircraft connectivity and cabin technology upgrades which includes the Gogo Galileo, Honeywell Ka-Band and Collins Ku-Band solutions.
This development further enhances the company’s aircraft modification and connectivity capabilities. FAI Technik has already equipped its first aircraft, a Bombardier Global Express XRS, with Starlink in June and is scheduled to complete additional installations across select aircraft within its fleet.
The SpaceX Starlink installation services are also available to external aircraft owners and operators, enabling customers to upgrade their aircraft with the latest generation of in-flight connectivity. FAI Technik says that with Starlink, passengers benefit from fast, reliable internet access in flight, supporting video conferencing, streaming, cloud-based applications and seamless online communication.
“Our appointment as an authorised SpaceX Starlink dealer and installer marks an important milestone in the continued expansion of FAI Technik’s modification and connectivity capabilities,” Michael Axtmann, Managing Director, FAI Technik said.
“As demand for high-speed, reliable connectivity continues to grow across the business aviation sector, we expect Starlink to become a highly attractive addition to the range of services and solutions we offer aircraft owners and operators.”
