Finnair has launched a new winter menu to keep customers cosy during the colder months until 28 January 2025, with inspiration taken from Finnish and Asian flavours.
Alongside the new menu, the airline has made pre-ordering an available feature for short-haul Business Class customers, providing a choice of four meal options.
“As the temperatures start to drop, we are excited to be launching our new winter menu, thoughtfully crafted to bring warmth and Nordic flavours to customers during the season,” said Sami Oksava, Finnair Kitchen Development Chef. “With new dishes across all cabins, and the ability to now pre-order your preferred meal when travelling in Business class within Europe, we are confident these changes will go down a treat with customers.”
For appetisers, the new offerings include smoked whitefish, crayfish tails and Shimeji mushrooms; salmon tartare and spicy sriracha shrimp with trout roe and cucumber in scallop cream; or a goat’s cheese tartlet with semi-dried tomatoes and redcurrant compote.
Customers may now choose their main courses from these new options: slow-cooked beef entrecôte with garlic mashed potatoes, root vegetables and sautéed porcini mushrooms in blackberry sauce or pike-perch and salmon terrine with creamy kohlrabi and roasted vegetables in lobster sauce, with a third changeable option available for those with dietary requirements.
A new range of snacks and desserts is available for Business Class long-haul passengers, with as Pågen cinnamon buns, Fazer Domino biscuits, and cold-smoked reindeer and hummus sandwiches on flights departing from Helsinki.
Finnair has also made updates to its purchasable menu, providing additional snack and drink options for passengers to buy in the Economy cabin. The new additions include alcohol-free beer, Nocco energy drinks, fruit smoothies, hot chocolate, and Barbells protein bars and salami snacks. Specifically on flights to Gran Canaria, customers will now be able to buy travel items such as toothbrush and toothpaste sets, Finnair playing cards, and travel-sized chocolates.
