FlightPath3D, which recently announced an exciting milestone, has revealed the deployment of its Cloud Map platform solution across Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air.

The solution is now live on Alaska Airlines’ mainline aircraft and the company’s regional fleet. The Cloud Map allows passengers to experience the joy of live flight tracking, travel tips and destination discovery using their own mobile devices.

It offers the Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Horizon Air passengers the full FlightPath3D suite of maps, destination content, and airline-powered marketing to the aircraft via Starlink internet. “The inflight map is the cornerstone of a successful passenger entertainment and engagement programme,” shared FlightPath3D President Duncan Jackson.

“Alaska Airlines challenged us to bring this service to life with consistent content across a range of aircraft types and touchpoints. Cloud Map delivered, with happy travelers and an integration process for the airline that beat expectations.”

“We know that our guests love the FlightPath3D moving map experience,” David Scotland, Director of Cabin Experience for Alaska Airlines commented.

“We’re excited to be able to extend this across our airline with Cloud Map simplifying the rollout and boosting engagement with our travelers. We look forward to partnering with FlightPath3D on future enhancements that will make the experience even better for our guests.

Earlier this year, FlightPath3D released a white paper on the potential of in-flight moving maps, exploring how airlines can engage with passengers through the technology. The paper looks into how airlines can keep passengers engaged within their own digital ecosystem rather than losing them to the open internet. FlightPath3D says that, while investing in next-generation Wi-Fi is a powerful first step, by focusing on the software layer, airlines can transform a standard connectivity pipe into a signature brand experience that stays with passengers long after they cross the arrival gate.
