The Gulfstream G800 has achieved Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Safety Agency (EASA) type certifications, confirming higher performance capabilities for the aircraft than previously thought.
Fitted with Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the type certifications have confirmed the G800 to have a range of 8,200 nautical miles at Mach 0.85, 200 nautical miles more than expected, and 7,000 nautical miles at Mach 0.90 or 8000 nautical miles at Mach 0.87. Now, the aircraft’s maximum operating speed sits at Mach 0.935, rather than the previous Mach 0.925.
The aircraft has also been certified with a balanced field length take-off distance of 5,812 feet and a landing distance of 3,105 feet, both shorter distances than expected.
