Gilat receives additional orders for Sidewinder ESA worth $43 million

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced this week that it has received additional orders worth USD 43 million from a major in-flight connectivity service provider for its Sidewinder electronically steered antenna (ESA) terminals.

Gilat Satellite Networks is a satellite-based broadband communications provider with over 35 years of experience. The company develops and delivers deep technology solutions for satellite, ground and new space connectivity, offering next-generation solutions and services for critical connectivity across commercial and defense applications.

According to the company, the deliveries are planned over the next 18 months in both line-fit and retrofit configurations. Gilat says the awards reflect continued demand for low-profile, high-performance connectivity systems designed to meet airline requirements for superior user experience, reliability, scalability and global coverage, and that they further demonstrate the growing shift by satellite operators to antennas that can fully leverage advanced multi-orbit network architectures.

“These significant orders reflect the continued evolution of IFC networks toward high-performance, scalable, multi-orbit architectures,” said Mike Pigott, President of Gilat Stellar Blu.

Sidewinder was designed for this environment, enabling service providers to deliver reliable, high-quality connectivity across diverse routes and increasingly complex network requirements.”

Sidewinder ESA supports operation across multiple satellite constellations, enabling more efficient use of available capacity while maintaining stable, high-throughput connectivity for airline passengers worldwide.
