Gogo has announced that its Gogo Galileo high‑performance in-flight connectivity system is now approved for installation on the Dassault Falcon 7X and 8X, following the issuance of FAA and EASA Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for the Gogo Galileo HDX antenna by Dassault Falcon Jet’s MRO organisation.
Frédéric Cadiou, sales support director at Dassault MRO, said the approval reflects the growing importance of connectivity for long‑range Falcon operators: “Connectivity has become a core element of the Falcon customer experience, particularly on long‑range missions flown by the Falcon 7X and 8X. The approval of Gogo Galileo on these aircraft provides our operators with a high‑performance, reliable additional solution that meets rising expectations for global coverage and speed, while aligning well with the Falcon platform’s efficiency and design philosophy.”
Powered by the Eutelsat OneWeb enterprise‑grade LEO network, the Gogo Galileo system delivers high‑performance, reliable global connectivity for passengers and crew. Its HDX electronically steered antenna (ESA) is compact, lightweight and low‑power, offering consistent speeds of up to 60 Mbps and optimised for aircraft ranging from light jets to large‑cabin platforms.
Michael Skou Christensen, chief commercial officer at Gogo, highlighted the significance of the STCs for two of the most widely operated ultra‑long‑range business jets: “These STCs are very exciting, as the Dassault Falcon 7X and its successor, the Falcon 8X, are among the most popular ultra‑long‑range business jets thanks to their combination of performance, comfort and advanced technology. In addition to high‑speed in-flight internet, Gogo‑equipped aircraft gain access to the company’s suite of value‑added services, including advanced cybersecurity protections, training, and 24/7/365 global customer support in multiple languages.
Christensen noted that cybersecurity and privacy are increasingly central to operator requirements, particularly with new PART‑IS regulations in Europe: “Cybersecurity and privacy have become increasingly important discussion topics with customers, especially with new PART‑IS regulations in Europe, where many Falcons are based. Our cybersecurity protections and training are very well received. In addition, all of Gogo’s connectivity solutions are designed to protect privacy. We minimize data retention and protect what’s sensitive — something most of our customers now prioritise.”
