Global in-flight entertainment, retail, and connectivity technology company Immfly has announced an exciting development for low-cost and ultra-low-cost narrowbody fleets.
The new satcom solution leverages Eutelsat’s OneWeb low-Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation through Gogo hardware and network infrastructure, equipping formerly disconnected commercial aircraft with Gogo’s electronically steered antenna and Eutelsat’s OneWeb connectivity services.
Immfly says the launch of the solution is planned for 2026 and that the company is currently accepting requests for pilot programmes. “For many low-cost and ultra-low-cost carriers, in-flight connectivity has historically been difficult to justify beyond passenger Wi-Fi,” Jimmy M von Korff, Executive Chairman and co-founder of Immfly, said.
“This partnership changes that equation. By bringing reliable, low-latency connectivity to narrowbody fleets, airlines can support real-time payments, digital retail and connected crew tools that improve efficiency and unlock new onboard revenue. It allows the cabin to operate as part of the airline’s business, not as a disconnected space.”
Gogo’s next-generation Plane Simple electronically steered antenna (ESA) combined with Eutelsat’s OneWeb cutting-edge constellation services and Immfly’s modular, agnostic onboard server, Equilux Aero, will deliver a highly reliable, lightweight, cost-effective, and rapidly deployable high-speed connectivity solution that can be fully installed in just 24-30 hours. It is initially targeted for narrowbody fleets and regional jets that currently lack connectivity.
