IndiGo have selected portable inflight entertainment (IFE) provider, AirFi, for a three-month trial of wireless streaming in-flight entertainment.
The solution will be activated from May 1 onboard flights between Delhi and Goa. AirFi’s wireless IFE portal will be available through the IndiGo mobile app HELLO 6E.
“IndiGo is where it is today because of the bold choices it makes. They don’t do anything by halves, which is why we’re thrilled to have been chosen for this trial,” commented AirFi’s CEO, Job Heimerikx.
“IndiGo is on a journey of continuous digitization, and we believe AirFi, as the global market-leader in streaming IFE technology, is uniquely placed to help the carrier achieve its goal of catering to evolving passenger expectations.”
The streaming entertainment component of the solution is enabled by Mumbai-based Shermaroo Contentino and California-based West Entertainment. It will provide around 200 hours of India and Hollywood movies, TV shows, music and games.
Passengers will also be able to access two new airline-branded games, in conjunction with games developer, Gladi8or, and AirFi’s 3D moving map product. Passengers can take part in a treasure hunt which will be integrated into the moving map.
