JPA Design cabin designs for the Airbus A321neo fleet of China Airlines.

JPA Design has unveiled its cabin designs featured onboard the new Airbus A321neo fleet from China Airlines.

With a scope that covers premium business class and economy class seating as well as entryway areas and washrooms, the cabin has been designed to instil the emotions of a journey in customers.

The nature inspired experience starts in the aircraft entryway. Forest textures of persimmon wood and stone mix with butterfly projections reflecting the traditional art of shadow puppetry. These are complemented by dramatic artwork on the entrance wall to greet customers as they first step onboard.

The all new fully flat beds in premium business class reflect the central theme of a traditional tea pavilion set in lush green landscapes, featuring a colour palette of rich warm brown that is reminiscent of a tea house interior. Increased privacy is offered to all customers by means of an extendable divider that features a thoughtful integrated vanity mirror while capacitive seat controls promote ease of use and cleanability.

Continuing down the cabin, the theme for economy class turns its inspiration to the modern urban landscapes of vibrant cities. A combination of light and dark technical leathers on the seat gives a youthful and fresh look that is also durable and robust. Stitch detailing has been incorporated to reflect the brand’s journey curve – a journey that never ends and is a continuous experience from one destination to another. Each seat incorporates divisions stitched onto the literature pocket and a nylon strap to keep cables and bulky items organised.

Elliott Koehler, Creative Director at JPA Design said, “It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to work closely with the team from China Airlines and to offer their customers a sense of familiarity and surprise as they experience these exciting new aircraft cabins.”
