KlasJet has begun its passenger wet lease operations, adding eight 186-189 economy configuration Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its fleet.

The Avia Solutions Group family member and private jet charter company plans to operate aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) services for 15 Boeing 737-800 type aircraft until the end of 2023, which will increase to 35 aircraft by the end of five years.

According to Lukas Petrauskas, Deputy CEO, KlasJet, the company’s launch of wet lease operations follows the predicted growth in the ACMI markets, which is predicted to reach US$8.9 billion in 2030.

“Aircraft manufacturers are dealing with backlogs and the situation is made more complicated by a number of overbooked MRO slots,” said Petrauskas.

KlasJet’s services will provide for both bulk and single requests across a variety of regions worldwide, and will tailor schedule parameters, criteria and details for individual needs. Additionally, the charter company’s ACMI team will be on hand for aircraft on ground (AOG) situations.

Speaking about the decision to start operations, Petrauskas said: “Paired with the first summer largely out of the pandemic, and skyrocketing demand for travel, it’s key for tour operators, brokers, and airlines to take action now and not wait until right before the high summer season.”
