Korean Air has secured six honours at the 2026 Cellars in the Sky Awards, earning one gold, four bronze and a Highly Commended distinction for the quality of its premium inflight wine programme. The airline’s standout result came in the First‑Class Dessert Wine category, where Château Guiraud 2022 won gold with a score of 94 points. Judges highlighted its deep golden‑amber colour, rich texture and strong pairing potential with desserts.
The carrier also collected bronze awards for Shafer One Point Five 2023 in the First‑Class Red Wine category and Champagne Palmer & Co Grands Terroirs 2015 in the Business Class Sparkling Wine category. Two further bronze distinctions placed Korean Air third overall in both the First‑Class Wine Cellar in the Sky and Business Class Wine Cellar in the Sky categories. In addition, Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition, served in First Class, received a Highly Commended mention.
Organised by Business Traveller, Cellars in the Sky is one of the industry’s leading airline wine competitions. Established in 1985, the awards recognise the best wines served onboard worldwide, with entries assessed through blind tastings by an independent panel of experts.
Korean Air currently offers 61 wines across its cabins, including 20 in First Class and 30 in Prestige Class. The airline selects wines to complement both the inflight dining experience and the cabin environment, rotating its portfolio regularly to provide frequent travellers with greater variety.
The award‑winning selections include Château Guiraud 2022, a Sauternes dessert wine known for its apricot, peach and tropical fruit notes; Shafer One Point Five 2023, a Napa Valley red with blackberry, violet and licorice aromas; Champagne Palmer & Co Grands Terroirs 2015, sourced from Premier and Grand Cru villages; and Krug Grande Cuvée 173ème Édition, a complex blend of more than 100 wines aged for at least seven years.
