In-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) solutions company Panasonic Avionics has opened a new software centre of excellence in Portland, Oregon.
The Portland centre will launch with a core team of software engineers specialising in Linux and Android operating systems, playing a key role in Panasonic Avionics’ ongoing efforts in developing next-generation software platforms.
The company says this strategic expansion will further augment Panasonic Avionics’ global software capabilities, as well as further solidifying its position at the cutting-edge of personalised digital engagement technology development for the airline industry.
Currently, Panasonic Avionics has engineering teams in Irvine, California, Malmö, Sweden, Osaka Japan and Pune, India. The Pune facility has been further strengthened with the addition of a software support team in Mumbai.
