Panasonic Avionics will be installing the company’s eXW wireless in-flight entertainment (IFE) solution across Air Arabia’s 172 aircraft.
The company already has an existing program with the airline, with six A321LRs already flying with Panasonic Avionics’ eXW solution. The new agreement includes Air Arabia’s Airbus A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR fleets and 120 aircraft will be line fit at the OEM, with another 52 aircraft being retrofitted.
The eXW wireless entertainment will also be featuring a suite of digital solutions from Panasonic Avionics, including its ArcTM Moving Map, Insights Data Analytics and OneMedia Advertising services.
Ken Sain, Chief Executive Officer of Panasonic Avionics Corporation, said: “Air Arabia is renowned for its ability to blend comfort, reliability, and value for its customers, and we are very excited to work with them as they implement an impressive digital strategy that will even further enhance their brand value.
“Wireless IFE remains a critical component of many airlines’ strategy. eXW will create a unique experience that combines passenger entertainment, digital apps, and onboard retail into a truly unique passenger experience with a competitive total cost of ownership and a compelling ROI.”
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said: “We thank Panasonic Avionics for their support as we expand the existing inflight wireless entertainment system on our A321 fleet to include the entire Air Arabia’s current and future fleet. This step not only showcases our commitment to investing in cutting-edge, value-driven solutions but also aims to further enhance the onboard experience we offer our customers.
“Through our eXW-backed ‘Sky Time’ portal, our customers can continue to enjoy personalised content streamed on their personal devices, further enriching their journey while flying Air Arabia.”
