Inflight was treated to an exciting immersive seating and in-flight entertainment experience on 14 April at the Aircraft Interiors Expo by RAVE Aerospace and Safran Seats. The companies have combined their expertise on seating technologies and in-flight entertainment to create a vision for the future of premium travel where innovative physical and digital technologies bring comfort, wellbeing and entertainment into new territories.
Ben Asmar, Vice President Products and Strategy at RAVE Aerospace who hosted the media tour commented: “Future display technologies are about more than just consuming content. They enable curated experiences, whether that’s deep immersion or the ability to escape into environments beyond the physical.”
“Our ambition is to redefine the future of premium travel,” Jean-Christophe Gaudeau, VP Marketing at Safran Seats commented. “With Origin, we bring together seating innovation and future display technologies to create an immersive, adaptive environment that puts comfort, well‑being and passenger control at the forefront.”
The concept offers an Immersive Display, a U-shaped micro-LED screen that functions as a transformative element of the suite environment. Passengers can enjoy a fully controllable and adaptable visual environment which creates dynamic moods and ambiances that redefine the in-suite experience.
RAVE Aerospace also revealed details about its new RAVE OS 2, which is the core of the company’s next-generation onboard digital software platform. It transitions from a closed system to an open platform architecture that enables greater flexibility, scalability, and continuous innovation onboard. The platform, paired with the new Harmony user interface, delivers a consistent, modern, and flexible experience that can be deployed seamlessly across multiple hardware generations.
Asmar said: “RAVE OS 2 is a fundamental shift in how in-flight technology is delivered. We’re moving away from closed, hardware-defined systems to an open, digital platform that evolves over time. That gives airlines the flexibility to innovate at their own pace, bring new capabilities onboard faster, and continuously improve the passenger experience.”
Another very exciting new solution from Rave Aerospace is the AI-powered search and conversational interface, integrated directly into the Harmony user interface. Passengers can discovering content, access flight information and interact with the system in a more natural and intuitive way by using the solution.
In addition, RAVE Aerospace’s Live Transcription and Translation concept has been named a finalist in the accessibility category of this year’s Crystal Cabin Awards, taking place in Hamburg on 14 April. The solution transcribes onboard announcements into text displayed on the seatback screen and translates them into the passenger’s selected language in real time.
RAVE Aerospace has worked with Reaktor to bring the flexibility of the RAVE open platform architecture to life. Together, the teams have designed and built Harmony the RAVE NextGeneration Graphical User Interface (GUI) demo.
“Our goal with the RAVE Open Platform architecture is to enable collaboration,” Asmar commented. “Our work with Reaktor on this project illustrates how external partners can design and develop graphical user interface experiences using the RAVE Developer Suite. It demonstrates the platform’s readiness to support real-world integrations and highlights how third-party teams can contribute advanced UI concepts, reinforcing the openness and flexibility of the RAVE ecosystem.”
“At Reaktor, we’re proud to partner with technology vendors to bring their product visions to life,” said Michael Holler, VP at Reaktor Aero. “We worked closely with the RAVE team inside their platform environment, aligning with their roadmap and priorities while contributing UX and software development expertise drawn from years of experience designing digital airline services.”
