South American based LATAM Airlines has selected RECARO Aircraft Seating to retrofit its Boeing 787 aircraft with the R7 premium mini-suite.
The upgrade consists of 24 shipsets, including 20 R7 suites in the B787-8s, and 30 in the B787-9s.
“Both RECARO and LATAM teams have worked in close collaboration to enhance passenger comfort and privacy with this bespoke R7 design,” said Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding. “Knowing that LATAM will be the first South-American based airline to fly our R7 is an outstanding milestone for all involved.”
To suit the airline’s requests, the seats will feature an increased shell height for privacy, and suite doors, as well as customised colours and dress covers using antimicrobial faux leather.
