UK start-up airline flypop is bringing its second aircraft into service for cargo operations

UK start-up airline flypop is bringing its second aircraft into service for cargo operations this week.

The carrier’s Airbus A330 flew into London Stansted Airport last weekend, where flypop’s headquarters are located. Flypop, which in May last year selected Bluebox Aviation Systems to provide an ancillary revenue generating retail and in-flight entertainment solution on board its Airbus A330 aircraft, has been partnering with wet lease specialist operator Hi Fly for zero-LOPA (layout of passenger accommodations) cargo operations over the past few months to meet the growing international demand for cargo flights.

Flypop Principal and CEO, Nino Singh Judge, said: “Fantastic to see our second flypop aircraft in the skies and especially here at our UK base at London Stansted Airport and flying over my house. Flypop is now a revenue-generating airline and we look forward to continuing to grow our fleet of aircraft throughout 2022 for both cargo and passenger operations. We expect a surge in demand for low-cost flights to India from the UK from Q2 onwards.”

The carrier is currently considering several destinations on the Indian subcontinent – including Amritsar, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Chandigarh – and says it will bring two more of its fleet of aircraft into service for cargo duties over the next couple of months.

It plans to launch passenger flights in the summer to meet the demand of the Indian diaspora communities living in the UK and their visiting friends and relatives.
