Sport 24 to broadcast Fortnite World Cup

Sport 24 has secured the in-flight broadcast rights to the first Fortnite World Cup 2019, 26 –28 July at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Stadium in New York.

Richard Wise, SVP, Channels and Content, IMG Media, commented: “Fortnite is recognised as a global phenomenon and we are excited to be broadcasting live coverage to passengers across the full three days.”

Sport 24 Extra will show more than 15 hours across the weekend on international flights, with content delivered via a digitally encoded stream (RTMP Feed) from IMG Studios near London.

The deal was negotiated by IMG who are distributing the rights on behalf of Epic Games, the game developer and publisher of the popular Fortnite game franchise.
