United Airlines has completed its overhaul of its domestic in-flight catering contracts.

From November, Newrest will catering and logistics solutions to United in Houston at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

Newrest has been working with United since 2008 providing in-flight services in over 10 countries and 20 cities worldwide. The caterer aims at reducing the environmental impact of catering activities in Houston, in line with its CSR commitments.

gategroup has also signed a long-term agreement with United Airlines. The caterer will provide food services for the airline at three hubs in the US: Newark Liberty International Airport, Denver International Airport, and Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (Honolulu).

gategroup will support United’s operations and culinary aspirations through a diverse selection of services including hub operational support, on-trend menu design and passenger culinary experience, as part of developing a new onboard food experience that is “Uniquely United”.

gategroup will provide menu design services on a global basis that aim to “reshape the experience for a new generation of travellers” and position United as an industry leader in onboard dining. Through the development of a bespoke culinary vision, gategroup and United will establish Studio Ellen, a culinary think tank and community of local, world-class culinary talents and chefs brought together exclusively to interpret the United brand through the power of culinary experiences. According to a statement, “Studio Ellen will marry culinary creativity with cutting-edge innovation and the power of data to create experiences that exceed the expectations of every United guest.”
