MedAire is making its flagship training programme available via virtual classroom.

The course, Management of Inflight Illness & Injury (MIII),  teaches crewmembers the skills needed to provide assistance quickly and accurately when a medical event occurs in flight, as well as essential Covid-19 risk mitigation measures.

“Innovation is a hallmark of MedAire,” said Bill Dolny, MedAire CEO. “As the needs of those in the aviation industry evolve, MedAire is continuously adapting and innovating to meet those needs. Since 1986, thousands of crewmembers and flight departments have relied on MedAire’s first responder training. Now, crewmembers can continue to receive the training they need, regardless of their location.”

Students will receive a package of life-saving training equipment and instruction on first responder techniques via interactive guidance, delivered via Zoom.

The MedAire Training Pack includes a manikin & wrist monitor, bandages and personal precaution equipment for students to get hands-on experience in proper technique. Students receive an American Heart Association CPR Card upon successful completion of the course.

The virtual MIII curriculum also includes detailed information on essential Covid-19 risk mitigation measures inclusding PPE; how to deliver oxygen onboard safely to reduce exposure to airborne viruses; aircraft surface cleaning and disinfecting; hotel room safety for crew that must overnight, and infection control guidelines for cabin crewmembers.
