Ralf Gust

The Crystal Cabin Award Association has appointed Ralf Gust, Managing Director of Hamburg Aviation, as President of the association, succeeding Lukas Kaestner who stepped down in September 2023 and will remain involved as an association member.

Ralf Gust commented on the appointment: “I am very pleased to take on the role of President of the Crystal Cabin Award Association, especially given the long and successful history of the award and our determination at Hamburg Aviation to further develop the award to ensure its long-term success as the industry transitions to a decarbonised future.

“I would also like to thank the outgoing Association President, Lukas Kaestner, for his many years of dedicated work for the award and its community. We want to build on the highly successful 2023 edition and drive forward innovations such as the new, sustainably produced trophy. We have exciting plans for the award in 2024 and beyond and look forward to welcoming the judges, entrants, sponsors and media to the awards ceremony on 28 May 2024, which will be once again held in Hamburg during the Aircraft Interiors Expo at the prestigious Chambers of Commerce venue.”

Hamburg Aviation has managed the award since the first ceremony in 2007. The Crystal Cabin Award honours the best concepts and products from visionary designs to practical solutions that enhance the travel experience and involves an international jury of nearly 30 independent aviation experts who select the finalists and winners in eight categories.

Winners of the Crystal Cabin Award in 2023 included Air New Zealand, Collins Aerospace, Lantal Textiles, Teledyne Controls, Thales Avionics and TU Delft.
