Emirates toasts Oktoberfest onboard

Emirates has announced it will be celebrating German festival Oktoberfest on board its flights to and from Munich, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Frankfurt between 16 September and 3 October.

The flights will feature Bavarian starters, main courses and desserts across outbound Economy and in Business and First Class both inbound and outbound. There will also be additional snacks in the carrier’s onboard A380 lounge, and the airline will also offer classic Oktoberfest dishes and Loewenbrau beer at its airport lounges.

Appetisers such as Obatzda, Emmental and cream cheese with radishes and hard-boiled egg and cornichons will be offered to First and Business Class passengers, and slow cooked veal cheeks, braised red cabbage and bread dumplings, fleischpflanzerl – a succulent minced beef steak served with butter, veal jus, mashed potatoes, blanched cauliflower, green beans, carrot, braised onions and sauerkraut will feature in the dinner menu.

Desserts in First Class will be offered apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and Business Class passengers will enjoy German Apple Cake drizzled with crème anglaise. In Economy Class, passengers are offered roasted chicken with paprika, potato wedges and braised red cabbage as well as apple cake with almonds and vanilla sauce.

At its A380 onboard lounges, Emirates will serve Bite size Oktoberfest sandwiches with cream cheese with chives, roasted beef with horseradish, grilled chicken with sundried tomato olive spread and Emmental with gherkins, as well as pretzels, lebkuchenherzen, pistachio maamoul, cashew and pine nut boukage, chocolate and raspberry brownies, rhubarb tarts, strawberry cheesecake and lemon drizzle cake.
