Lufthansa Technik and Boeing Business Jets (BBJ) have unveiled CelestialSTAR, the latest VVIP cabin concept for the BBJ 777-9. The renderings of the 340 square metres interior have been developed to meet the requirements of a new generation of VVIP and head-of-state aircraft.
The design features a new flagship cocoon-like private king-size bed and bathroom with an adjacent work and balance area as the private suite for the VVIP guests. This suite can be merged into a self-contained retreat for enhanced privacy if required.
“The thoughtful design of the BBJ 777-9 interior created by Lufthansa Technik illustrates the key features of our newest, largest and most capable BBJ on the market,” said Alexis Fecteau, Managing Director of Marketing, Boeing Business Jets. “The elegant interior elements maximise personal comfort for passengers onboard the BBJ 777-9, which is capable of flying over 22 hours and connecting any two cities in the world, non-stop.”
Additional features of the design include large window shades with electrochromatic dimming, a lobby-like room Celestial Lounge with a bar and seating, a conference and dining area, deluxe suites inspired by First Class cabins, an executive area inspired by Business Class cabins and an entourage area inspired by Premium Economy cabins.
“The BBJ 777-9 is the largest aircraft type newly available on the market and thus simply predestined for its role as successor to the BBJ 747 as the most popular aircraft for heads of state, many of which are among our loyal customers for decades,” said Hassan Gasim, Sales Director Middle East VIP and Special Aircraft Services, Lufthansa Technik. “Through our close cooperation with Boeing Business Jets and furthermore Lufthansa’s role as launch customer for the new type, we were able to build up extensive technical expertise at an early stage.”
