Qatar Airways Celebrates the Year of the Tiger with Traditional Treats and Red Envelopes

Qatar Airways is making the most of the Lunar New Year celebrations by offering its passengers a specially curated selection of festive treats on selected routes. The airline is also giving out traditional “hóngbāo” red envelopes to passengers travelling between 31 January and 1 February, containing a complimentary Super Wi-Fi code and a 22% discount for buying perfumes, cosmetics and skincare at the QDF Perfumes and Cosmetics Stores.

All passengers travelling on Qatar Airways to and from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore are offered a range of celebratory dishes and treats, with Premium Cabin passengers enjoying a Golden Mandarin Mule mocktail drink and a bespoke à la carte menu that includes Peking duck roll, stir-fried noodles with tiger prawns, beef cheek with vegetable fried rice and mandarin mousse.

Economy Class cabin passengers can select a meal from the carrier’s Lunar New Year digital menu that includes green tea soba salad, sweet and sour chicken with vegetable fried rice and tofu cheese mousse with red sesame crumble for dessert, all presented on a themed tray mat along with chopsticks and a red cutlery band.

In addition, Al Safwa First and Al Mourjan Business Lounge customers at Hamad International Airport can enjoy a reunion dinner and try traditional celebratory dishes from the bespoke Lunar New Year menu, with passengers being able to enjoy hot and sour chicken soup, Sichuan-style beef short ribs with vegetable-fried rice and black sesame-baked cheesecake.
