Azerbaijan Airlines has selected AJW Technique Interiors’ SkyLeather for the seating on three of its A319s and six A320 aircraft. As part of Azerbaijan Airlines’ strategic plan, AJW Technique Interiors will also retrofit the interiors of one B757 and two B767 aircraft with its own in-house cut, sew and engineering capabilities.

SkyLeather, developed in collaboration with Autostop Aviation, will deliver cost savings and reductions in fuel consumption due to its lighter weight, enhanced durability and easy-clean mateiral, resulting in a reduction of Direct Maintenance Costs (DMC).

“The installation of SkyLeather not only elevates the airline’s commitment to sustainability but also provides passengers with an exceptional level of comfort and aesthetics,” said Christopher Whiteside, Chairman, AJW Group. “This partnership represents a significant step forward in revolutionising the passenger experience while reducing the environmental impact of aviation.”

Samir Rzayev, First Vice President, Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC, added: “AZAL is actively working to improve the quality of its services and is committed to meeting the needs of its passengers while minimising the negative impact on the environment. Our airline is focused on the use of environmentally friendly solutions and this co-operation has become another important stage of work in this path.”
