Emirates shares its most watched and listened IFE content in 2023

Emirates has shared data on what content its passengers watched and listened to on board the carrier’s flights in 2023.

Emirates offers more than 6,500 channels of on demand movies, TV shows, music, podcasts and live TV, including 2,000 plus Hollywood and international movies. Some of the most watched movies by Emirates customers were visually Avatar: The Way of Water, Ticket to Paradise  and the popular action movie Top Gun: Maverick. Long haul customers also watched box sets of movies such as The Lord of the Rings complete trilogy and all four of the John Wick films.

According to the carrier, the top viewed international movies included two Bollywood action movies, Vikram Vedha and Bholaa, the French thriller La Syndicaliste, Korean drama Return to Seoul, and the 2023 Cannes Palme d’Or winner, Anatomie d’une chute from France and Emirati film Khorfakkan.

The most popular family movie choices in 2023 were noted as Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Tom & Jerry Cowboy Up! Teen Titans Go! & DC Superhero Girls and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

When it comes to box sets, HBO Max’s Succession and both seasons of The White Lotus were very popular, as were Friends, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Big Bang Theory. Historical dramas The English, and Women of the Movement, as well as suspense-filled drama Your Honor starring Bryan Cranston were also top choices.

Live TV channel content on board Emirates includes Sport 24, BBC World News, CNN and Sky News Arabia, and an array of sports and social events such as the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla, Formula 1® races, NFL Superbowl, English Premier League, Augusta Masters, ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Rugby World Cup 2023, Wimbledon, DP World Tour and the US Open Tennis were popular options. The carrier says that the single most watched sports on Emirates live TV in 2023 was the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Emirates’ music library includes around 3,000 albums, more than 500 curated playlists, over 40,000 tracks and more than 4,000 hours of music and podcasts. The most popular albums were Mozart’s Chamber Music, Ed Sheeran’s album Subtract and Taylor Swift’s album Midnights. Popular children’s music included Cocomelon, Bluey, Kidzbop, and the Encanto soundtrack.

Emirates ice also provides Happiness and Wellbeing content which is popular with passengers.

Emirates says it is closing out 2023 with the biggest movies of the year on ice such as the fantasy-comedy blockbuster Barbie, available in French, German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Russian, Arabic and Chinese.  Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, a high stakes thriller partly filmed in the UAE, is also available on board in up to 8 languages, as is The Equalizer 3 starring Denzel Washington, and passengers can watch the entire trilogy on ice.
