Magnetic Creative receives EASA-approved STC to install ERJ 190 in-seat power supply system

Magnetic Creative has obtained an EASA-approved STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) for SAS, marking a significant advancement in its partnership with SAS.

The development highlights the company’s expertise in integrating USB systems into Embraer aircraft, with the STC reflecting its Part 21J team’s commitment to delivering stand-out solutions, Magnetic Creative says.

The project included reconfiguring the Embraer ERJ 190 passenger cabin to a single-class 122 PAX all-economy Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA), with in-seat power supply system components installed. According to the company, they required a comprehensive modification to ensure SAS passengers will experience an enhanced travel experience.

Zuzana Obračajová, Sales Director at Magnetic Creative commented: “Design team’s expertise was put to use during the modification process, needing rigorous testing, meticulous attention to detail, and effective collaboration.

“The team’s work is highly appreciated and indicative of more similar and one-of-a-kind projects in the future. We would also like to express our gratitude to SAS for their trust and long-term partnership throughout this process. Working together to bring this exciting enhancement to their passengers has been a pleasure. We are confident that this STC will elevate the in-flight experience, setting new standards in comfort and convenience.“

Mia Jakobsson, Director of Aircraft Trading at SAS said: “Installing this USB system on an Embraer for the first time, coupled with the introduction of these new seats, enables our passengers to enjoy the enhanced experience and a Scandinavian feeling, in line with the rest of the SAS fleet. All thanks to the Magnetic team for the good collaboration and for making this project a success!”
