Paint manufacturer Mankiewicz has created a new ALEXIT FST EcoChrome single-layer paint system that the company says is faster, less costly and less harmful to the environment.
The special mixture can have a subtle flop effect, giving each part a lively appearance, is available in a range of colours beyond the classic chrome-silver look and can be applied to both smooth and textured substrates such as hand rails and buttons.
A striking effect is achieved when the mixture is applied onto typical pre-textured interior substrates. The single-layer coating system can be sprayed onto various thermoplastics and pre-treated aluminium and, in most cases, directly onto the appropriately cleaned substrate.
According to the company, with its high yield and low dry film thickness, EcoChrome is a safe and economical alternative to conventional chrome plating. Mankiewicz will be exhibiting its latest highlights at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) on stand 7E40.
