Singapore Airlines took home five gold awards for its in-flight wine selection at Business Traveller’s Cellars in the Sky awards on the 20th February. The event saw the airline collect gold awards for Best Overall Cellar, Best Business Class Red, Best Business Class Cellar, Best Presented Business Class Wine List and Best Presented First Class Wine List, as well as six silver and bronze awards.

The Cellars in the Sky Awards, now in its 37th year, is an annual event celebrating business and first-class wines served in-flight by airlines.

Speaking about the airline’s success at the awards, Mohamed Rafi Mar, General Manager for the UK and Ireland, Singapore Airlines, said the airline was “very pleased” with the recognition of the gold awards, especially its Best Overall Wine Cellar award, which it has now won for the second year running.

The airline’s General Manager for the UK and Ireland was joined at the awards ceremony by Oz Clarke, Wine Consultant, Singapore Airlines as well as other colleagues.

“Credit must go to our Inflight Services team and our wine consultants – including Oz Clarke – who sample up to 1,000 bottles of wine each year as part of our selection process,” he added. “It is great to see that their commitment to offering Singapore Airlines’ customers the very best gourmet dining experience is bearing fruit and they continue to set the highest standards for our inflight offerings.”
