A selection of Tapis 9 Series soft touch synthetic leather

Tapis and Ultrafabrics have launched The Comfort Zone, a multi-layered solution targeted at airlines looking to elevate their passenger experiences, at Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX). The partners will also be launching The Lounge as a hub offering news, ideas and information on aircraft interiors, which is also making its debut at AIX.

The Comfort Zone aims to target multiple dimensions of passenger comfort, including thermal, physical, environmental and sensory, and will additionally feature a new conversation about colour with Ultrafabrics partner Pantone, including a feature with the Pantone colour of the year. Tapis and Ultrafabrics also worked with ACRO, creating a cover for the series-6 seat made with Ultraleather Vivid Punch, inspired by Pantone’s viva magenta.

“We felt that it was important for airlines to begin thinking about comfort beyond the physical realm,” said Jason Estes, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing, Tapis. “Materiality plays a bigger role than most people realise in delighting passengers, so we needed to deconstruct the idea of comfort and why it’s important for airlines to think differently about this fundamental feature.”
